Tour Plan
Your Egyptian adventure begins with a pickup. You'll be taken to the Giza Plateau, home to the iconic Giza Pyramids. Explore these monumental structures, including the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. Marvel at the Great Sphinx, a mythical creature guarding the pyramids. Afterward, travel to Saqqara, an ancient burial ground. Here, you'll see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, considered one of the earliest large-scale stone constructions in Egypt.
Today, you'll embark on a journey to the White Desert and Black Desert. This excursion typically involves a drive to the desert regions. The Black Desert is characterized by its dark volcanic hills, while the White Desert is known for its surreal, chalky rock formations shaped by wind erosion. Explore the unique landscapes and geological formations.
Return to Cairo from the desert. In the evening, you'll board a sleeper train bound for Aswan. This overnight journey offers a comfortable and efficient way to travel south.
Arrive in Aswan. You'll be picked up and taken to visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. This temple complex was relocated to Agilkia Island after the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Next, visit the Aswan High Dam, a significant engineering project. In the late afternoon or early evening, enjoy a relaxing felucca ride on the Nile River. A felucca is a traditional Egyptian sailing boat, and a sunset ride offers scenic views.
Today's highlight is a trip to Abu Simbel. These two massive rock temples, built by Ramses II, are located south of Aswan. The temples were also relocated to higher ground to preserve them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Explore the Great Temple of Ramses II and the smaller Temple of Nefertari.
Travel from Aswan to Luxor. Along the way, you'll stop at Kom Ombo Temple. This unique double temple is dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon-headed god. Continue to Edfu to visit the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon god Horus.
An optional hot air balloon ride is available early in the morning, offering a panoramic view of Luxor. Check out from your hotel. The day is dedicated to exploring the West Bank of Luxor. Visit the Valley of the Kings, where many pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, were buried. Explore the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, a unique architectural structure. Finally, see the Colossi of Memnon, two large stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Explore the East Bank of Luxor. Visit Karnak Temple, the largest ancient religious site in the world. Then, visit Luxor Temple, which was connected to Karnak by an avenue of sphinxes. In the late afternoon or evening, travel back to Cairo, either by train or flight.
Your final day in Egypt is spent in Cairo. Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, which houses a vast collection of ancient artifacts. Then, explore the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, which contains treasures such as the artifacts from Tutankhamun's tomb. In the afternoon, visit Khan el-Khalili, a famous bazaar with a wide variety of shops and souvenirs. Finally, you will be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your departure.
